Ordering a Subscription
How can I order a subscription?
One the homepage, click on "All subscriptions and prices". Here you will find all of the subscription types. Choose your desired subscription and follow the directions for ordering.
I received an error message when I tried to order a subscription. What happened?
If your order could not be completed, please check your personal information one more time, and then contact us at service@kigaportal.com.
Please note that each e-mail address can only be used for one order at at time.
After successfully ordering a subscription, I never received a confirmation e-mail. Why not?
If you didn't receive a confirmation e-mail after your subscription order went through, it could be due to the following errors:
- Transmission error
- Your inbox is full
- Your spam filter blocked our e-mail
- Your e-mail address is incorrect
How can I access my subscription?
After successfully ordering a subscription, you will receive an e-mail with your login information (i.e. your e-mail address and a password).
On our homepage you can enter this information in the upper right-hand corner under "Login".
After logging in you will have access to all the lesson ideas included in your subscription.
Types of Subscriptions
KiGaPortal offers a different type of subscription depending on your needs:
KiGa Free
With KiGa Free, you get access to free ideas from our vast pool of ideas every month. You can choose the ideas and adapt them to age, interest and needs of the children.
KiGa subscription for Teachers
Pre-K, kindergarten and elementary school teachers and principals can also choosea KiGa subscription for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months long. Prices and more information can be found on the Subscription page.
KiGa subscription for Schools
This variation offers a KiGa subscription for schools and universities.
With this subscription you can obtain additional licenses for your employees, who can also access the lesson ideas from home.

What is an "additional subscription license"?
Additional licenses can only be obtained through the a KiGa subscription for schools.
For each additional license you will receive an individual login (user name and password), which your school manages independently. That way, all of your employees have their own login information.
How can I manage additional licenses?
Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
From the menu, choose Edit licenses.
Can I order additional licenses at any time?
Yes you can!
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, choose Edit licenses.
- Click on "change number of licenses".
Can the KiGa subscription for Schools subscription be accessed for private use, as well?
Yes, when adding additional licenses you can enter your colleagues' private e-mail addresses so that you and your colleagues can access the lesson ideas from home, too.
KiGa subscription for Parents
With this subscription you can learn and play with your child at home. You have access to all the lesson ideas of a KiGa subscription for teachers.
KiGa Gift Subscription
Here you can give your colleague or friend the gift of KiGaUnlimited.
How do I order a KiGa Gift Subscription?
- Go to the homepage and click on All Subscriptions and Prices.
- Click on Gift and follow the directions for entering data.
- You will then receive a confirmation e-mail with a gift code.
- Now you can send the gift code to your gift recipient.
How can I activate a KiGaGift Subscription?
- Go to the homepage and click on Redeem gift code.
- Enter your gift code and your personal data.
- You will receive your login information by e-mail.
- Now your gift subscription is activated!
Are there subscriptions for students?
Yes, students can access a KiGa Teacher Subscriptions for especially low prices. Choose from the student options when placing an order.
Changing Subscriptions
Can I change my subscription?
In general you can make changes within your subscription type (e.g. extend your KiGa teacher subscription from 6 to 12 months).
Where can I find information on my subscription?
- Go to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on Subscription Overview.
- Here you can see all the information about your subscription.
Can I change my subscription type?
You cannot change the type of subscription (e.g. teacher or school subscription) while it is still active. To change your subscription type please contact our support team.
Can I change my KiGa Free to a KiGa subscription?
Yes, you can upgrade to a KiGa subscription.
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on Change subscription.
- Choose your desired subscription.
I ordered and paid for a KiGa subscription for 3 months. Can I change it to a KiGa subscription for 12 months?
Yes! You can change your 3-month subscription to a 12-month subscription.
The amount paid for your 3-month subscription will simply be credited toward a new invoice for your 12-month subscription.
To change your subscription just follow these steps:
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on Change subscription.
- Choose your desired subscription.
I ordered a KiGa subscription for 3 months but haven't paid yet. Can I change it to a KiGa subscription for 12 months?
Yes! You can change your 3-month subscription to a 12-month subscription.
In this case your unpaid invoice will be cancelled and you will receive a new invoice for your 12-month subscription.
To change your subscription just follow these steps:
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on Change subscription.
- Choose your desired subscription.
I ordered and paid for a KiGa subscription for 12 months. Can I change it to a KiGa subscription for 6 months?
At any time, you can change the subscription so that at the end of the 12-month subscription period it is renewed as a 6-month subscription, for example.
I ordered a KiGa subscription for 12 months, but haven't paid yet. Can I change it to a KiGa subscription for 6 months?
Yes! You can change your 12-month subscription to a 6-month subscription.
In this case your unpaid invoice will be cancelled and you will receive a new invoice for your 6-month subscription.

Subscription Termination
My subscription is ending soon. Do I have to renew it?
No. Every KiGa subscription is automatically renewed by KiGaPortal.
How can I delete my KiGa Free Account?
In case you want to delete your KiGa Free Account, please contact our customer service.
How can I cancel my subscription?
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on Change subscription.
- Here you can cancel your subscription as of the end of the subscription period.
Login
I can't log in. What's the problem?
Check to see if you have entered your e-mail address and password correctly. (Be careful of capital and lower-case letters, spaces, etc.)
If it is still not possible for you to log in, please contact us at service@kigaportal.com with your login information.
I forgot my login information. How can I retrieve it?
If you have forgotten your password, you can create a new one:
- Go to the homepage and click on "Login".
- If your information is incorrect, you will see a pop-up window saying, "password forgotten"
- Click here and enter your e-mail address.
- You will then receive an e-mail containing a link to reset your password.
- Follow this link to enter your new password.
- Use this password to log in to KiGaPortal again.
Newsletter
What kind of information will I receive from the KiGaPortal newsletter?
The free newsletter lets you know about the new ideas appearing weekly on our homepage as well as a our Planner.
How can I order the newsletter?
You can sign up for the free KiGaPortal newsletter either:

Sign up for our Newsletter by clicking "Sign up for our Newsletter" on our homepage.
How can I unsubscribe from the newsletter?
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter directly from the newsletter itself.
Changing or Forgetting your E-Mail, Password or Customer Data
How can I change my personal information on KiGaPortal?
Under "Account" on our homepage, you can manage and change your personal subscription settings (e.g. customer data, billing address, e-mail address, password, etc.).
How can I change my e-mail address?
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on "E-mail address".
- Enter your new e-mail address.
How can I change my password?
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on "Password".
- Enter a new password.
How can I change my customer data (e.g. address, phone number)?
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on "Customer data" or "Address".
- Enter the information you wish to be changed.
Changing Billing Information and Payment Methods
How can I change my billing address?
- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.
- From the menu, click on "Address".
- Enter the new billing address.
I didn't have to enter a billing address, but I would like to provide one. Where can I enter my billing address?
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account
- From the menu, click on "Address".
- Check the box for "Different billing address?" and add your billing address.
I am receiving my invoice by e-mail, but I would prefer to receive it by mail. Can I change this?
Invoices can only be sent by mail to customers in Europe. To change your settings:
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account
- From the menu, click on "Payment method".
- Change the setting to your preferred method.
I don't know whether I've paid my invoice. Where can I find out?
- Log in to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on "Invoices".
- Here you can see all the information about your invoice.
Forum
How can I post in the Forum?
There are two ways to post in the KiGaPortal Forum:
- As a KiGaPortal subscriber you automatically get a forum profile. With this you can read all entries, start new topics in the forum, and respond to others.
- If you are not a KiGaPortal subscriber, you can still read all forum entries, but you cannot respond to others or start a new topic. You must register (for free) to do so. With this forum profile you get free access to our forum.
How can I change my forum profile?
- Go to the homepage and click on Account.
- From the menu, click on "Forum profile".
- Change your forum profile.

How the Homepage Works
Which entries can I find under "New Ideas" on the homepage?
Clicking on "New Ideas" will take you to the current lesson ideas.
Which entries can I find under "Theme" on the homepage?
By clicking on "Theme," you will see many lesson ideas from our pool of ideas relating to certain seasons, holidays, festivals and other themes.
Which entries can I find under "Activities" on the homepage?
By clicking on "Activities" you can find lesson ideas and games divided in subjects.
Which entries can I find under "Planner" on the homepage?
Every week, the editors choose ideas from the archive which fit the weekly theme. You can import and adapt these ideas to your own plans.
How do I use the "Search" function on the homepage?
With our search function you can quickly find ideas you are looking for. Simply enter content-related, topic-related or seasonal keywords and click on the search icon. You can also look for ideas for a certain age group.
Lesson Ideas
Why are there green and orange ideas?
- Green ideas: new ideas that are updated weekly.
- Orange ideas: all entries from the pool of ideas, as well as the new ideas weekly.
What can I find under "linked ideas"?
You will often find "linked ideas" at the end of an entry. These contain contents used in the lesson plan (e.g. picture cards to print, etc.).
How can I comment on a lesson idea?
Lesson ideas can only be opened and commented on by KiGaPortal subscribers. If you would like to comment on an entry, scroll down to the end and enter your comment under "New comment".
How can I rate a lesson idea?
Lesson ideas can only be rated by KiGaPortal subscribers.
- Open the lesson idea you would like to rate.
- In the center of the page you will see the function five stars.
- Choose the appropriate number of stars to give your rating.
How can I print a lesson idea?
Lesson ideas can only be opened and printed by KiGaPortal subscribers.
- Open the lesson idea you would like to print.
- In the middle of the page you will see the function "print lesson".
- The lesson idea will be opened in a PDF format and can be printed.
