Why are there green and orange areas on KiGaPortal?

 

KiGaPortal offers lesson ideas in two variations:

 

New ideas every week: KiGa-Free

At the beginning of the week you get access to 3 new ideas marked in green as part of the KiGa-Free one-month free subscription.

 

Archive of all lesson ideas:  KiGa-Unlimited                                      

All new lesson ideas are archived after a while, and these are marked in orange as part KiGa-Unlimited.

 

Why are there gray areas on KiGaPortal?

All the ideas marked in gray are free for everyone!

 

 

 

Ordering a Subscription 

 

How can I order a subscription?

One the homepage, click on "Order Subscription". Here you will find all of the subscription types. Choose whichever one you would like and follow the directions for ordering.

 

I received an error message when I tried to order a subscription. What happened?

If your order could not be completed, please check your personal information one more time, and then contact us at service@kigaportal.com.

Please note that each e-mail address can only be used for one order at at time.

 

After successfully ordering a subscription, I never received a confirmation e-mail. Why not?

If you didn't receive a confirmation e-mail after your subscription order went through, it could be due to the following errors:

- Transmission error

- Your inbox is full

- Your spam filter blocked our e-mail

- Your e-mail address is incorrect

 

How can I access my subscription?

After successfully ordering a subscription, you will receive an e-mail with your login information (i.e. your e-mail address and a password).

On our homepage you can enter this information in the upper right-hand corner under "Login".

After logging in you will have access to all the lesson ideas included in your subscription.

 

 

 

Types of Subscriptions

 

KiGaPortal offers a different type of subscription depending on your needs:

 

KiGa-Free

With KiGa-Free, you can test out our new ideas for one week long, totally free!

KiGa-Free ends automatically after 1 week. You don't have to cancel it and won't receive any surprise charges.

 

KiGa-Unlimited for Teachers

Pre-K, kindergarten and elementary school teachers and principals can also choose KiGa-Unlimited for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months long. Prices and more information can be found on the Subscription page.

 

KiGa-Unlimited for Schools

This variation offers KiGa-Unlimited for schools and universities.

With this subscription you can obtain additional licenses for your employees, who can also access the lesson ideas from home.

What is an "additional subscription license"?

Additional licenses can only be obtained through the KiGa-Unlimited subscription for schools.

For each additional license you will receive an individual login (user name and password), which your school manages independently. That way, all of your employees have their own login information.

 

How can I manage additional licenses?

Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

From the menu, choose manage subscription licenses.

 

Can I order additional licenses at any time?

Yes you can!

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, choose manage subscription licenses.

- Click on "add license".

 

Can I cancel a license at any time?

Yes you can!

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, choose manage subscription licenses.

- Choose "delete license".

 

Can the KiGa-Unlimited for School Subscription be accessed for private use, as well?

Yes, when adding additional licenses you can enter your colleagues' private e-mail addresses so that you and your colleagues can access the lesson ideas from home, too.

 

KiGa-Unlimited for Parents

With this subscription you can learn and play with your child at home. Not only do you have access to all the lesson ideas of KiGa-Unlimited for teachers, but you will also find specially chosen games and learning ideas for your child to use at home in the Parents section.

 

KiGa-Unlimited Gift Subscription

Here you can give your colleague or friend the gift of KiGa-Unlimited.

 

How do I order a KiGa-Unlimited Gift Subscription?

- Go to the homepage and click on Order Subscription.

- Click on Gift Subscription and follow the directions for entering data.

- You will then receive a confirmation e-mail with a gift code.

- Now you can send the gift code to your gift recipient.

 

How can I activate a KiGa-Unlimited Gift Subscription?

- Go to the homepage and click on Redeem gift code

- Enter your gift code and your personal data.

- You will receive your login information by e-mail.

- Now your gift subscription is activated!

 

Are there subscriptions for students?

Yes, students can access KiGa-Unlimited Teacher Subscriptions for especially low prices. Choose from the student options when placing an order.

 

 

 

Changing Subscriptions

 

Can I change my subscription?

In general you can make changes within your subscription type (e.g. extend your KiGa-Unlimited teacher subscription from 6 to 12 months).

 

Where can I find information on my subscription? 

- Go to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on Subscription Overview.

- Here you can see all the information about your subscription.

 

Can I change my subscription type?

You cannot change the type of subscription (e.g. teacher or school subscription) while it is still active.

 

When can I change to a different subscription type?

At the end of your subscription period you can change to a different subscription type (e.g. from a teacher to a school subscription). To do so, you have to cancel your old subscription and order the new one.

 

Can I change my KiGa-Free to KiGa-Unlimited?

Yes, you can upgrade to KiGa-Unlimited.

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on Change subscription type.

- Choose your desired subscription.

 

I ordered and paid for KiGa-Unlimited for 3 months. Can I change it to KiGa-Unlimited for 12 months?

Yes! You can change your 3-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription to a 12-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription.

The amount paid for your 3-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription will simply be credited toward a new invoice for your 12-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription.

To change your subscription just follow these steps:

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on Change subscription type.

- Choose your desired subscription.

 

I ordered KiGa-Unlimited for 3 months but haven't paid yet. Can I change it to KiGa-Unlimited for 12 months?

Yes! You can change your 3-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription to a 12-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription.

In this case your unpaid KiGa-Unlimited invoice will be cancelled and you will receive a new invoice for your 12-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription.

To change your subscription just follow these steps:

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on Change subscription type.

- Choose your desired subscription.

 

I ordered and paid for KiGa-Unlimited for 12 months. Can I change it to KiGa-Unlimited for 6 months?

At any time, you can change the subscription so that at the end of the 12-month subscription period it is renewed as a 6-month subscription, for example.

 

I ordered KiGa-Unlimited for 12 months, but haven't paid yet. Can I change it to KiGa-Unlimited for 6 months?

Yes! You can change your 12-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription to a 6-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription.

In this case your unpaid KiGa-Unlimited invoice will be cancelled and you will receive a new invoice for your 6-month KiGa-Unlimited subscription.

To change your subscription just follow these steps:

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on Change subscription type.

- Choose your desired subscription.

 

 

 

 

Subscription Termination

 

My subscription is ending soon. Do I have to renew it?

No. Every KiGa-Unlimited subscription is automatically renewed by KiGaPortal. (Note: This is not true for KiGa-Free, which ends automatically after one week!)

 

Do I have to cancel KiGa-Free?

No, KiGa-Free is automatically terminated by KiGaPortal after one week.

 

How can I cancel my subscription?

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on Change subscription type.

- Here you can cancel your subscription as of the end of the subscription period.

 

 

 

Login

 

I can't log in. What's the problem?

Check to see if you have entered your e-mail address and password correctly. (Be careful of capital and lower-case letters, spaces, etc.)

If it is still not possible for you to log in, please contact us at service@kigaportal.com with your login information.

 

I forgot my login information. How can I retrieve it?

If you have forgotten your password, you can create a new one:

- Go to the homepage and click on "Login".

- If your information is incorrect, you will see a pop-up window saying, "Forgot your password?"

- Click here and enter your e-mail address.

- You will then receive an e-mail containing a link to reset your password.

- Follow this link to enter your new password.

- Use this password to log in to KiGaPortal again.

 

 

 

Newsletter

 

What kind of information will I receive from the KiGaPortal newsletter?

The free newsletter lets you know about the new ideas appearing weekly on our homepage as well as a our KiGaPlans.

 

How can I order the newsletter?

You can sign up for the free KiGaPortal newsletter either:

 

A) When ordering a subscription

 

B) On our homepage:

- Go to the homepage and enter your e-mail address under "Newsletter", then click "Sign up".

- You will receive an e-mail containing a link.

- Follow this link to complete your newsletter order.

 

How can I unsubscribe from the newsletter?

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter directly from the newsletter itself.

 

 

Changing or Forgetting your E-Mail, Password or Customer Data

 

How can I change my personal information on KiGaPortal?

Under My Subscription on our homepage, you can manage and change your personal subscription settings (e.g. customer data, billing address, e-mail address, password, etc.).

 

How can I change my e-mail address?

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on "E-mail address".

- Enter your new e-mail address.

 

How can I change my password?

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on "Password".

- Enter a new password.

 

How can I change my customer data (e.g. address, phone number)?

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on "Customer data" or "Address".

- Enter the information you wish to be changed.

 

 

 

Changing Billing Information and Payment Methods

 

How can I change my billing address?

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on "Address".

- Enter the new billing address.

 

I didn't have to enter a billing address, but I would like to provide one. Where can I enter my billing address?

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on "Address".

- Check the box for "Different billing address?" and add your billing address.

 

I am receiving my invoice by e-mail, but I would prefer to receive it by mail. Can I change this?

Invoices can only be sent by mail to customers in Europe. To change your settings:

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on "Payment method".

- Change the setting to "Send invoice by mail". 

 

I don't know whether I've paid my invoice. Where can I find out?

- Log in to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on "Invoices".

- Here you can see all the information about your invoice.

 

 

Forum

 

How can I post in the Forum?

There are two ways to post in the KiGaPortal Forum:

- As a KiGaPortal subscriber you automatically get a forum profile. With this you can read all entries, start new topics in the forum, and respond to others.

- If you are not a KiGaPortal subscriber, you can still read all forum entries, but you cannot respond to others or start a new topic. You must register (for free) to do so. With this forum profile you get free access to our forum.

 

How can I register for the KiGaPortal Forum?

- Go to the homepage and click on Forum.

- Click on a topic and follow the link "register for the forum here".

- Enter your information.

- You will receive the access information for your forum profile in an e-mail. Use this information to log in to our homepage.

- Now you can read all the entries in the forum, respond to others and start new topics.

 

How can I change my forum profile?

- Go to the homepage and click on My Subscription.

- From the menu, click on "Forum profile".

- Change your forum profile.

Clicking on "New Ideas" will take you to the current lesson ideas.

 

Which entries can I find under "Weekly Plan" on the homepage?

Every week, the editors choose ideas from the archive which fit the weekly theme. You can import and adapt these ideas to your own plans.

 

Which entries can I find under "Theme" on the homepage?

By clicking on "Theme," you will see many lesson ideas from our archives relating to certain seasons, holidays, festivals and other themes.

 

Which entries can I find under "Monthly Ideas" on the homepage?

Follow the link for "Monthly Ideas" to find lesson plans sorted by month.

 

Which entries can I find under "Parents" on the homepage?

When you click on the tab for "Parents," you will have access to the entire pool of ideas for teachers, as well as specially chosen games and learning ideas to use with your children at home.

 

How do I use the "Search" function on the homepage?

With our search function you can quickly find ideas you are looking for. Simply enter content-related, topic-related or seasonal keywords and click on the search icon.

 

How do I use the "Jobs" function on the homepage?

Employers can post job vacancies, and job seekers can post about themselves on KiGaPortal under Jobs. This service is free for everyone.

 

 

What can I find under "Mandalas" and under "Photo Galleries, Cartoons and Aphorisms" on the homepage?

KiGaPortal offers free mandalas, photos, cartoons, and aphorisms, as well as calendars and documents to download. You do not need a subscription to access this area.

 

 

Lesson Ideas

Why are there green and orange ideas? 

- Green ideas: new ideas that are updated weekly. With a KiGa-Free you have access to all the green ideas.

- Orange ideas: all entries from the archives, as well as the new ideas weekly. With a KiGa-Unlimited you have access to all orange AND green ideas.

What can I find under "linked ideas"?

You will often find "linked ideas" at the end of an entry. These contain contents used in the lesson plan (e.g. picture cards to print, etc.).

 

What can I find under "related ideas"?

Under "related ideas" you can find ideas related to the lesson plan.

 

How can I comment on a lesson idea?

Lesson ideas can only be opened and commented on by KiGaPortal subscribers. If you would like to comment on an entry, scroll down to the end and enter your comment under "New comment".

 

How can I rate a lesson idea?

- Open the lesson idea you would like to rate.

- On the right-hand side you will see the function "rate idea" and three smiley faces.

- Choose the appropriate smiley face and click the "rate" button to give your rating.

 

How can I print a lesson idea?

- Open the lesson idea you would like to print.

- On the right-hand side you will see the function "print lesson".

- The lesson idea will be opened in a PDF format and can be printed.

 

How can I forward a lesson idea to a colleague?

If you want to recommend a lesson idea to someone you know, you can send it directly to another KiGaPortal subscriber:

- Open the lesson idea you would like to send.

- On the right-hand side click on "send link".

- Enter the e-mail address of the person you would like to send it to and click "send article".
